"Plaza Alta" - composed by Ángel Ripoll (guitar)
"Plaza Alta", a piece composed & played by: Ángel Ripoll filmed by: Francisco Ortiz Ripoll https://www.angelripollmusic.com/ Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/angelripollguitar/ And Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083772041922 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (versión en español más adelante) This is one of my first compositions for solo guitar, written from January to June 2017 and dedicated to my dear Francisca and her family. It is a very special piece for me, because it is inspired by Algeciras, a city that lies in Cádiz (south of Spain). In fact, my first years of life were spent there. As you will appreciate, the piece sounds quite "gipsy". It appears in fact, that Paco de Lucía, one of the greatest flamenco guitarrists of all times, was born in Algeciras in 1947. Therefore, Algeciras is today of a symbolical significance for the flamenco world. Thus, for this piece I have been inspired by the most beautiful spanish musical heritage: the Flamenco, mixing it with my speciality: the classical music. The piece is like a little walk through the most relevant places of Algeciras, namely the "Bajadilla" (where Paco de Lucía was born), the harbour, the area "El Faro" (next to "El Estrecho de Gibraltar"), and, of course, the main square: "La Plaza Alta". I hope that you enjoy this music as much as I do, and thank you all for your comments and your support. I must thank specially Francisco Ortiz Ripoll, for without him, this video wouldn't be as good as it is! He took the video and brought the material to do so. And of course, thanks a lot to everyone that contributed to make this proyect a better one. You all appear in the final credits. THANK YOU ALL!

"Andrómeda" - composed by Ángel Ripoll
played by AD libitum guitar duo (Ángel Ripoll & Dmitri Timoshenko) composed by Ángel Ripoll "Andromeda" means many different things : the daughter of the king of Aethiopia in the Greek Mythology, a science-fiction TV series, one of the 88 modern constellations, and a galaxy which is approximately 2.5 million light-years (23'651'826'000'000'000'000 Km) from our planet. The Galaxy of Andromeda can be visible to the naked eye on moonless nights. This piece called "Andrómeda" is intended to musically depict this remote galaxy, and how it would feel if you were floating in the middle of Space with many stars and lights around you. https://www.angelripollmusic.com/ Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/angelripollguitar/ And Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083772041922

"La Fuente de los Deseos" - Ángel Tomás-Ripoll
"The Wishing Fountain" ("La Fuente de los Deseos") A person approaches a fountain, surrounded by a clear and misterious fog. But it wasn't an ordinary fountain. The person took a coin out of a pocket and thought: "This is the moment" (...) The Fountain's water shaked. The person left... in good hope. "Zuhause in Tübingen" - composed by Ángel Tomás-Ripoll
This piece was composed in just 30 minutes, some days before my departure from Tübingen. As the idea of this piece came to my mind, I thought that it could be a good way of expressing my gratitude towards my friends in Tübingen. The piece is very simple, and based on four chords basically (G, e, D, e), which correspond to the name Geldner, the family that very kindly welcomed me in Tübingen. In some occasions I add a C major chord, or even an F major chord, in order to bring more variety to the whole, and avoid getting bored! Thank you very much for listening, and see you next time :-D ! "La Catedral" (III. Allegro Solemne) - A. Barrios Mangoré
Interpretado y grabado por Ángel Ripoll https://www.angelripollmusic.com/ Sígueme en Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/angelripollguitar/ Y en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083772041922 ------------------------- (ENG) This is the third movement of ‘La Catedral’, a work composed by Agustín Barrios Mangoré in 1921 and probably inspired by the cathedral of Montevideo (Uruguay) during the composer's stay in a hotel near the cathedral. It is said that from his hotel room, Barrios could hear the pealing of the cathedral bells, and that was the trigger for the compositional process. According to some sources, this third movement conveys the rushing and the noise of the street when leaving the cathedral, after a small recollection that is expressed musically in the first two movements of the composition (‘Preludio Saudade’ and ‘Andante Religioso’). Nevertheless, the "cathedral bells" can still be heard in the background in some sections. "Iberiana" - Julián Santos Carrión
"Iberiana" is one of the six Caprichos composed by Julián Santos Carrión for piano. Julián Santos is the utmost musical personality of Jumilla, my hometown, as he knew how to create it's musical heritage. He is a composer of zarzuelas, chamber music, piano music, symphonic music, band music (played in many parades during festivities)... but he didn't write music for solo guitar. This is why my only aim has been to translate Julián Santos' musical universe into guitar sounds, starting here with "Iberiana". It is remarkable how well this piano piece can be translated and played with a guitar. It is as if Julián Santos was thinking of a guitar when composing it. I hope you enjoy this video, which contains not only a unique guitar transcription but also a short footage of Jumilla, my dear village and the one of Julián as well. "The Road Goes Ever On" - by Howard Shore (arr. Ángel Ripoll)
Arranged by Ángel Ripoll for 2 guitars, 3 cellos, accordion and gong Original music by Howard Shore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-PIfC_6Fsg Played and recorded by Ángel Ripoll https://www.angelripollmusic.com/ Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/angelripollguitar/ And Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083772041922 Ever since I was a child I have been an unconditional fan of anything to do with J.R.R. Tolkien's ‘The Lord of the Rings’. Of course, the first three films directed by Peter Jackson have always captivated me deeply. That is why I am very pleased to have been able to finish this arrangement of a theme by composer Howard Shore, which was used for the end credits of the first film (The Fellowship of the Ring). The name ‘The Road Goes Ever On’ originally corresponds to a walking song written by Tolkien. But the music that I have arranged, although it is called ‘The Road Goes Ever On’, actually has nothing to do with that song by Tolkien. Instead, it contains another song called ‘In Dreams’. Tolkien's original song goes: Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree, By caves where never sun has shone, By streams that never find the sea; Over snow by winter sown, And through the merry flowers of June, Over grass and over stone, And under mountains in the moon. Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star, Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known. Several musical versions of this poem have been made, such as the ones by Donald Swann (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2SZw9EBlus&list=PLvInjZgihFikfvhKTQg68ZRvEZPmgvQu3), Stephen Oliver (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fujDcsdFT8c), Caspar Reiff (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmNBjLRnOw0), Clamavi de Profundis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B6dsfGazyI). -------------------------------------- (ESP) Desde niño soy un fanático incondicional de todo lo que tenga que ver con "El Señor de los Anillos" de J.R.R. Tolkien. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ★ DISCLAIMER ★ I do not own the anime, music, artwork or the lyrics.
